Absolute Beginners Pole Dance Class

 

 

Most new students will start their pole dancing journey with our ‘Absolute Beginners Pole Class’.

 

This class is designed for Absolute Beginners who have no background in dancing or fitness and we will be sure to give you a taster for what is in store at Pole Perfect Dance Studios.

 

Each week, your class will start with a warm up, comprising of cardio and strength-based exercises to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. Your instructor will then guide you through a series of syllabus-based skills, including foundation pole moves, hand/foot placement, technique and transitions, basic floor work and body posture and movement.

 

 

Safety is our number one priority at Pole Perfect, so all students will be guided and instructed how to perform safely.

 

 

To complement your newly acquired skills, you will learn a 2 – 3-minute choreographed routine, with the opportunity to perform for your friends and family at our end of term “Show Night”. (performance is optional).

 

At the end of each class, you will participate in a guided group warm down and stretch to assist with flexibility.

 

 

Course duration:

10 Week Term (1 hour a week for 9 weeks. The 10th week is rehearsal week, 2 hours every night from Mon – Fri)

 

Class length:

60 minutes

 

Prerequisite:

No experience is required

 

What to bring:

Yoga mat, towel, knee pads, heels and/or socks, water

 

What to wear? (recommendations only):

Shorts and a shirt or single

Beginners 1 Pole Dance Class

 

 

 

The Beginner Course is designed for those students who have completed our Absolute Beginners Pole Course, or for those who have some previous dancing experience.

 

Each week, your class will start with a warm-up, comprising of cardio and strength-based exercises to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. Your instructor will then guide you through a series of syllabus-based skills, with a focus on adding to your already developing strength and technique. You will start to build your upper body strength by learning to hold your combinations for longer, and your instructor will encourage you to start moving more confidently and freely around the pole. You will learn combinations such as a Layout, Hello Boys and Open Leg Jamilla, just to name a few. You will also be guided in the correct and safe technique of going upside down for the first time.

Intermediate 1 Pole Dance Class

 

 

 

Intermediate 1 is aimed at our students who have started developing a Pole Dance Addiction and want to continue to increase their skill level!

 

Each week, your class will start with a warm up, comprising of cardio and strength-based exercises to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. Your instructor will then guide you through a series of syllabus-based skills, which will centre around perfecting, strengthening and executing your foundation moves with confidence. You will also start to work on your fluidity, flow and line work, while adding to your pole repertoire with the introduction of new pole skills. You will continue to spread your wings and spend more time in the air as your strength and skill grows, so being able to go upside down with confidence is a must in this course.

Intermediate 2 Pole Dance Class

 

 

The addiction has surely taken hold if you are considering enrolling into Intermediate 2.

 

This course is designed for students who have a confident grip on foundation skills, strength and are ready for a new challenge.

 

Each week, your class will start with a warm up, comprising of cardio and strength-based exercises to get your heart pumping and your muscles working. Your instructor will then guide you through a series of syllabus-based skills, including different variations of inverts, aerial inverts, hangs, climbs, spins and so much more!

 

Your instructor will encourage you to hold your combinations for longer to build endurance and will critique, neaten and sharpen your skills. We will also encourage you to work on your hip and shoulder flexibility to prepare you for higher-level skill sets, including getting your splits!
